Reformulated Primers Meet New Standards, Improve Performance

In case of recently reformulated Grace Construction Products’ Bituthene Primers, used by contractors for waterproofing concrete, change means more environmentally conscious products. The new primers raise the bar for performance and environmental friendliness within the waterproofing product industry.

The new products offered are Bituthene Primer WP-3000 and Bituthene Primer B2. Bituthene Primer P-3000, Bituthene Low VOC Content Primer and Bituthene Green Concrete Primer have been discontinued.

Advantages of the reformulated Bituthene products are many. Bituthene Primer WP-3000 is now water-based, as opposed to solvent-based, and provides twice the coverage per gallon. Because it contains fewer volatile organic compounds, it smells better and is more user-friendly. Most importantly, it meets tough new EPA standards for volatile organic compounds Bituthene Primer B2 also may be used on concrete that has not had time to fully cure, thus speeding up the construction process in Alaska’s less than ideal early spring, late fall and winter building seasons. It also works on both vertical and horizontal surfaces and meets the new EPA requirements.
