It’s not too early to start lining up those deck projects for the summer months, and FastenMaster® has introduced a new product that will make deck construction even simpler. The new IQ™Hidden Deck Fastener System allows deck builders to quickly and easily install boards of various materials, thicknesses and widths from above the deck. No fasteners are visible on the completed surface.

IQ uses a Clip&Flip™ system that requires only a drill for installation. The installer stands on top of the deck, aligns the clips with the joists and attaches them to the bottom of the board with a screw. Then just flip the board, slide it into place and secure it with a joist screw. Aligning the clip is simple, and doesn’t require measuring since the IQ clip allows for 3/8-inches in either direction. The system can be used for angled decks, to install both the first and last board and to connect seam joints.

The IQ Hidden Deck Fastener System is made of UV stable engineered resin for long-term durability. It is available at all SBS stores in 300 square foot, 100 square foot and 25 square foot packages. Each package comes with ACQ approved screws, two driver bits and the IQ clips, as well as an instruction DVD and written instructions.
