Two recent additions will give the company a bigger and more targeted presence in Anchorage and in the Mat-Su Valley. In March, SBS announced the acquisition of Pattison & Son’s Overhead Doors. The new SBS division, known as Mat-Su Overhead Door, operates at the SBS Wasilla Millwork Center located at 1700 West Parks Highway. A new facility for the division is being built adjacent to the Millwork Center and will open this fall. The 6,600-square-foot facility will offer windows, doors, trim and garage doors. Scott Pattison, owner and founder of Pattison & Son’s Overhead Doors, has joined SBS and is managing Mat-Su Overhead Door, bringing 22 years of experience to the company. The phone number to the store is (907) 376-5237. More recently, SBS announced the acquisition of Curtis & Campbell, Inc. and Wallcoverings North, Inc. Both will operate in concert with the SBS Design Center in Anchorage. Curtis & Campbell and Wallcoverings North continue to do business at 6239 B Street in Anchorage, offering flooring, paint, wall coverings, fabrics and hospitality design. Wallcoverings North is the only design center in Alaska that is open for decorators and clients to meet and select fabrics, wall coverings and fixtures. The Campbell family founded Curtis & Campbell in 1966 and Walls Covering North in 1975. Brothers Dale and Bill Campbell have more than 28 years of experience heading Curtis & Campbell, while Sharon Campbell has led Wallcoverings North. Curtis & Campbell can be reached at (907) 561-6011 and Wallcoverings North is at (907) 563-2233. SBS President Ed Waite commented that Scott Pattison and the Campbell families built successful companies on the principles of customer service and quality products, which fits well with the SBS business philosophy. For that reason, SBS plans to have the companies continue operating in the same manner as they always have, with the same employees and Pattison and the Campbells continuing to play active roles in their local store operations.
