GenStone: A New Face for Facades
Cinema producers in Hollywood have used GenStone to create the look of stone walls on movie sets. Now, Alaskan builders can use it too, to make beautiful architectural improvements to homes, offices, warehouses, businesses, garages, retaining walls, accent walls, patios, hot tubs and foundations.
GenStone is an innovative and cost-effective “face-lift” that adds the look of rock, stucco, brick or slate to new and existing commercial or residential construction or remodeling projects. These prefabricated faux stone panels are made using real stone and are provided in a variety of shades and appearances. GenStone products are lightweight, mortar-free and easily installed by one or two people using basic power tools. This makes it a perfect solution for homeowners who want a low-cost, low-maintenance alternative to real stone.
GenStone is easy to install to virtually any clean, dry sub-straight. It is sold in 2’x4’ panels, as well as corner pieces, trim pieces (for around windows and doors), ledgers (for window sills and top of wainscot) -- and comes with color-matching grout. Since the product weighs only about one pound per square foot, it’s not only easy for one person to install, it also eliminates the need for lift equipment and extra labor. GenStone is easily cleaned with a garden hose, requires no waterproofing and is impact-resistant. It won’t fade because it combines UV-stable pigmentation, along with an advanced coloration process that allows the product to maintain color integrity.
Ideally suited for either exterior or interior applications, GenStone’s flat-backed design allows for easy marking and cutting providing a tight condensation-resistant fit to a variety of substrates including Plywood/OSB, concrete/CMU, ICF, drywall and paneling.
Because real stone and stucco are used in the molding process, the product’s look and feel is just like that of the original materials. Taking it one step further, GenStone offers what real stone does not: added insulation value; low maintenance; and ease of installation.
SBS is now stocking GenStone in Seattle, and the product can be quickly delivered to Alaska as orders are placed.
