Options to Consider When Designing a Home Office
1. Make sure the keyboard and computer monitor are directly aligned.
2. Position the computer monitor so sunlight from a window doesn’t cause a glare on your screen.
3. Provide adequate space for storing discs and CD-ROMS.
4. Enclose the printer to reduce noise.
5. Allow adequate work surface for writing and reading.
6. Put the file cabinet to the right if you are right- handed.
7. Consider whether or not you’ll be expanding in the future before designing or buying furniture for the office.
8. Incorporate dimmer controls for overhead lighting.
9. Leave room for drawers and doors to cabinets to open easily.
10. Don’t forget a smoke alarm for safety.
11. Insulate walls in the office to minimize noise.
