Dispatcher
Job Duties
To direct and coordinate employees and delivery functions, control inventory, and insure quality customer service and efficient use of resources.
Coordinate and oversee all facets of delivery including scheduling, load building and transportation
Insure all loads are properly built for safe and effective hauling
Oversee receiving of incoming merchandise insuring accurate counts, documentation, storage and disbribution
Oversee safe loading and proper invoicing of material
Inform yards of shipping time or anticipated delays
Insure proper paperwork flow and company procedures are followed
Coordinate use of equipment and drivers
Insure material being shipped matches information on invoice
Insure all vehicles and equipment are properly maintained and documented
Make sure yard areas are well organized and free of safety hazards
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Knowledge of building materials. Forklift certification and experience. Previous dispatching experience preferred. Light to medium work (exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly.
